Feeling Stuck? It Might Be More Than Your Bowels

Hello dear reader,
Welcome back to Resilient Roads 🌿
This space has always been about looking deeper.
Because when it comes to health, our bodies are constantly communicating with us.
Sometimes through symptoms.
Sometimes through discomfort.
Sometimes through those little signals we are tempted to ignore.
Over the years, I’ve learned that my body is not my enemy.
It is my teacher.
And sometimes the messages it sends are not just about what we ate.
Sometimes they are invitations to pause and ask a bigger question.
What is really going on here?
When The Body Feels Stuck
Recently, I found myself dealing with something many of us know all too well.
Constipation.
And yes, even after all these years of learning about gut health, I still have moments where my body reminds me that I’m human. 😂
I was doing the things I know support digestion.
More fiber.
Magnesium.
Hydration.
Movement.
The things we always talk about.
But things still weren’t moving the way I wanted.
And that got me thinking.
Because isn’t it interesting how when our body feels stuck, sometimes our whole life can start to feel that way too?
That feeling of being blocked.
Stalled.
Like you’re pushing and trying and doing all the “right” things...
But something still isn’t flowing.
That’s when I started looking beyond the physical.
The Mind Body Connection
As a yoga teacher, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that the body, mind, and energy are deeply connected.
Yoga teaches us to pay attention.
To notice where we hold tension.
To become aware of our breath.
To reconnect with ourselves.
Because energy that is constantly pushed down, ignored, or held onto can show up in many different ways.
Sometimes it shows up as tight shoulders.
Sometimes exhaustion.
Sometimes anxiety.
Sometimes digestive symptoms.
The body has a language of its own.
We just have to learn how to listen.
The Root of Feeling Grounded
In yoga philosophy, we often talk about the root chakra.
The root represents grounding, stability, safety, and our connection to the physical world.
When we feel grounded, we feel supported.
We feel connected.
We feel like we have somewhere solid to stand.
But when life feels uncertain or overwhelming, it can feel like that foundation gets shaken.
And sometimes we can feel that in our bodies.
This doesn’t mean every symptom has one simple explanation.
The body is complex.
But it does mean there is wisdom in asking:
- Where am I feeling stuck?
- Where am I holding tension?
- Where am I resisting movement?
A Quick Grounding Practice for You
Inside my community, I record a new mind body practice weekly for my members—building an entire library of tools to help restore balance when things feel stuck.
I wanted to share one of those exclusive sessions with you today. This Root Chakra Guided Meditation was created specifically to help you release physical tension, quiet your nervous system, and reconnect with your foundation.

This is just a small sample of what we practice together every week inside our community...
Creating Movement Again
Sometimes we want a simple solution to fix something that has deeper roots.
I can take all the right supplements.
I can drink enough water.
I can eat the right fiber.
But if I am spending every day sitting at my computer, carrying stress, avoiding decisions, or feeling disconnected from my body...
My body notices.
When I recognize I’m feeling stuck, I know exactly what I need.
To get back on my mat.
Because yoga has always been one of the ways I create movement again.
The physical practice matters.
The twists, compressions, stretches, and mindful movement can help stimulate digestion, encourage circulation, and support the body’s natural ability to release.
But it also gives me a chance to reconnect with myself.
As I move through my practice, I become aware of where I am holding tension, where I feel restricted, and where I need to create more space.
This is why I continue coming back to yoga.
It reminds me that the body is designed for movement.
Sometimes the answer is not pushing harder.
Sometimes the answer is creating space and allowing things to move with ease again.
The Lesson My Body Keeps Teaching Me
I think one of the greatest gifts of learning to listen to my body has been realizing that symptoms are not always something to fear.
Sometimes they are information.
Sometimes they are a gentle nudge asking us to pay attention.
The question is not:
“What is wrong with me?”
The question is:
“What is my body trying to show me?”
That shift changes everything.
Because when we begin listening instead of fighting, we create a different relationship with ourselves.
A more compassionate one.
A more connected one.
A more resilient one.
So if you’re feeling stuck right now, I invite you to look beyond the obvious.
Maybe your body is asking for more support.
Maybe your energy needs somewhere to flow.
Maybe there is a part of your life ready for a little movement.
Sometimes the smallest shift is the beginning of everything changing.
